Therapeutic Stories bring easy to read, relevant and topical educational stories for kids in the form of a children’s therapy toolbox. Here is a selection of reviews from some of our readers:-

My highly introverted 10 year son recently went to Johannesburg on a cricket tour for an entire week!

Although my husband accompanied him for the first 3.5 days, even he could not properly console Dylan when he was "benched" for 2 of the 5 games.

When my husband left the tour to return to Durban to work, Dylan developed tonsilitis and was then out of the tour altogether including a very important semi final game.

Upon Dylan's return to Durban, he had lost all confidence in himself (in his exact words , "I suck at cricket"), often battled to get to sleep at night, and was waking nighltly with nightmares.

When I mentioned it to Scilla Edmonds (my youngest son goes to Birches) she gave me the above mentioned books for Dylan to read. Well, the nightmares stopped instantly and his anxiety lessened too. He even mentioned to me the other day that he wants to play cricket for SA one day.

This letter is to thank you for writing these most wonderfully insightful books that brings what they are going through into perspective in an easy to understand way.

Often people don't write and give feedback to people like yourselves, to say just how much you've helped them and I wanted to rectify that today.

Keep up your fantastic work

The books have been so useful. The first book used was with a group of 4 boys who had been involved in a fight on the playground was "The Angry Feelings", they were Grade 1 "angry boys" for various reasons. These boys wanted to be involved with the book and story and as we were sitting on cushions they wanted the book flat on the carpet. Input was given and actions done during the story. The boys loved it - thank you.

"Maybe I'm a Rainbow" has been used with Grade 1 to Grade 3, girls and boys - what a delight to share their reactions. After discussing their different feelings, each learner then made clay pot. We will fill it with "feeling" works before they take them home.

Great bright colours and wonderful metaphors! All in all they are a fantastic resource to have as I find children respond very well to the characters in the stories.

Your books are delightful!

These stories have proved to be wonderful tools for approaching sensitive issues in a non- threatening manner. The children appear to relate well with the characters and thoroughly enjoy the illustrations! bur ing follow-up session. Children have often request to re-visit a particular story and frequently offer feedback in terms of their own experiences. I find these stories to be useful and effective.
